Collecting personal information
We do not collect personal information (your name, email address, phone number) unless you provide it to us. Since we do not require registration to use EasyMark, it is extremely unlikely that we will ever collect personal information from you.
However, if you use the contact form on this website, you must leave an email address in case we need to reply. All information collected through the contact form will remain private. Your email address will never be shared, or sold. In fact, we will never contact you unless you specifically authorize us to do so.
The only time we will reveal personal information collected by us, is if we are compelled to do so by a law enforcement agency.
Collection of address book information
As part of creating assignments, we allow you to enter email addresses and names of people who will have access to your assignments. This allows you, for example, to have students attached to a specific assignment, so that you can enter marks for those students.
We do not use this information for our own purposes; we do not contact these people in any way. You may send information from EasyMark to these people if you choose to do so, but we will never contact them directly. Like all information collected by EasyMark, we will never share this information unless compelled to do so by a law enforcement agency.
Collecting non personal information
Our web server collects non-personal information like your IP address, time of visit, type of web browser, and other technical information during the process of logging visits. This is a normal process on the web and happens on almost every website. Here is a sample log entry:

This information does not identify you personally. Even so, we will not divulge it or share it with a third party unless compelled to do so by a law enforcement agency.
Our website uses two cookies as part of an authentication mechanism. When you log in, we place a cookie on your browser that allows us to maintain a state of authentication through the length of the visit. This is what allows you to access assignments you have created and password protected. The other is an XSRF token cookie, used to ensure that any form submissions by you (for example, when you are editing assignment details), are actually coming from your web browser, and not from a third party. Both these cookies are 'session' cookies, meaning that they last only so long as your visit; your browser should delete session cookies automatically after an hour or so, or immediately when you close your browser.
Accessing your information
You have full access to your information through any assignment you create. At any time, you may download (export) or purge (delete) all information associated with an assignment.
Since we do not collect registration information, you must perform export or purge actions on each assignment you create, if you wish to do so. There is no way for us to identify your assignments. Only you know your assignment URLs and the passwords to access them.
