Accessibility Statement
SZTek Inc., doing business as EasyMark ("SZTek", "EasyMark", "we", or "us"), is committed to providing a digital experience that is usable by the broadest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing engineering and design discipline, not a one-time exercise, and we welcome feedback that helps us do better.
1. Our Commitment
We design, build, and operate the EasyMark platform, websites, and admin portal with the goal of meeting or exceeding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We aim to ensure that our digital experiences are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for users of assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice-control software, switch devices, and keyboard-only navigation.
2. Standards We Follow
Our accessibility programme is informed by:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the international reference for web accessibility, published by the W3C;
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) — including the Information and Communications Standards under the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, where applicable to us as an Ontario-based provider;
- Accessible Canada Act (ACA) — the federal framework for an accessible Canada, including evolving accessibility standards from Accessibility Standards Canada;
- Quebec accessibility expectations — including bilingual delivery of all customer-facing content and applicable provincial standards.
3. Features We Have Built In
The following accessibility features are part of our standard build and are validated through automated checks in our continuous integration pipeline and through manual review:
- Keyboard navigation for every interactive element, including a "skip to main content" link and a logical tab order;
- Visible focus indicators on all focusable controls with sufficient contrast;
- Semantic HTML using landmarks, headings, lists, and form labels so that assistive technologies can understand the structure of each page;
- Colour contrast meeting at least the 4.5:1 ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text and meaningful graphical elements;
- Alternative text for meaningful images and decorative-image marking for those that are purely visual;
- Form labels and error identification with programmatically associated labels, descriptive error messages, and clear instructions;
- Language attributes set on every page so screen readers select the correct pronunciation in English or French;
- No auto-playing media or unannounced motion, with controls to pause, stop, or reduce motion in line with the user's operating-system preferences;
- Bilingual delivery with a language switcher available throughout the platform and the marketing site.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the experience may not yet meet our accessibility goals in every respect. Known limitations include:
- Third-party content — embedded third-party widgets, dashboards, social media previews, and content from external advertising platforms may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with our vendors to improve this where possible.
- AI-generated media — images, video, and audio generated by AI may not include accurate descriptive metadata by default. Customers are responsible for adding alternative text and captions to AI-generated assets they choose to publish.
- Customer-supplied content — documents, brand assets, and other content uploaded by customers vary in accessibility. The Service does not modify customer content to make it accessible.
- Beta or experimental features — features marked as beta may temporarily fall short of our standard accessibility expectations while they are being developed.
5. How We Test
We combine automated testing (including linting against WCAG-aligned rules, axe-core checks, and Lighthouse audits in continuous integration) with manual testing across screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom up to 200%, and high-contrast and reduced-motion modes. We periodically engage external reviewers and welcome feedback from members of the disability community.
6. Feedback and Requests for Accommodation
If you encounter a barrier when using EasyMark, or if you would like to request information in an alternate accessible format, we want to hear from you. We will acknowledge your message within five (5) business days and will work with you in good faith to resolve the issue or provide an accommodation in a reasonable timeframe. To reach us:
- Email: accessibility@easymark.ca (you may also write to hello@easymark.ca if preferred);
- Mail: SZTek Inc., Attention: Accessibility, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
To help us respond effectively, please describe the page, screen, or feature you were using, the assistive technology and browser involved (if any), and the nature of the barrier or request.
7. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is part of the definition of "done" for every new feature we ship. We track accessibility issues alongside other engineering work, prioritize remediation based on user impact, and review our progress regularly. This Statement is reviewed and updated as the platform evolves.
